Account Settings

Your own RestoreCord account, not a single server. These links need no placeholder. Tabs: Profile, Security, API, Applications and Sessions.

Username
The name you log in with, on the Profile tab.
- Length: 3 to 60 characters. Spaces at the start and end are trimmed.
- Characters: letters, numbers, spaces and
.,_,-,+,@. - Unique: a username that's taken can't be used. It is saved in lowercase.
Editing the field shows Cancel and Save Changes, plus a Confirm Password field. You have to enter your current password to save.
Your account email, on the Profile tab. It is used for logging in and for security emails such as codes and change notices.
Changing it takes three confirmations:
Type the new address, enter your password and press Save Changes.
Enter the code sent to your current email, then press Confirm Email.
Enter the second code sent to the new email and press Confirm Email again.
Each code expires after 10 minutes. An email that's taken can't be used, and the new address must be different from your current one.
Once the change goes through, every session is logged out, including this one. Log in again with the new email.
Discord
Links your Discord account, on the Profile tab. Linking lets you join the RestoreCord Community server with Join Community Server, on any plan.
- Link Discord authorizes with Discord. A Discord account can only be linked to one RestoreCord account.
- Change Discord account switches to a different Discord account. You get 2 changes per 30 days; the card shows how many are left, and when both are used it shows the date you can change again.
- Reauthorize Discord appears when the saved authorization needs to be renewed before you can join Community.
- Join Community Server adds your linked Discord account to Community. Joining is optional. Join Support opens the support server invite.
Talk to support, in the dashboard's Help menu, also needs a linked Discord account. If you haven't linked one yet, it asks you to press Link Discord first. Once you authorize, you're taken back to this page. After that, Talk to support opens Discord straight away.
On a paid plan (not a trial), you also get a role for your plan in Community, and you may get extra community roles.
Two-Factor Authentication
Asks for a 6-digit code from an authenticator app when you log in, on the Security tab.
To turn it on, press Enable 2FA, enter your password and press Continue. Scan the QR code with your authenticator app, or copy the secret shown below it (hover to reveal), then enter the code from the app and press Enable 2FA. Finish within 10 minutes, or the setup expires and you have to start over.
To turn it off, press Disable 2FA and enter both your password and a current code.
Once it is on, a code is also needed to change your password and to delete your account. You get an email whenever 2FA is turned on or off.
Change Password
Changes your account password, on the Security tab. Enter your Current Password, then the New Password twice. The new password must be at least 8 characters, and Change Password stays greyed out until both new fields match.
If 2FA is on, a 6-digit code field appears after the first press. Enter the code from your authenticator app and press Change Password again.
Changing your password logs out every session, including this one. You are sent back to the login page.
If you are locked out and cannot enter your current password, use Forgot password instead.
Request Data Export
Emails you a restorecord-export.json file with your account data, on the Security tab. It includes your profile, servers, custom bots, snapshots, migrations, API keys (names and permissions, not the keys), payment history and sessions.
You can request one every 24 hours.
Delete account
Permanently deletes your RestoreCord account, on the Security tab under Account Management. Press I want to delete my account to start:
Tick all three boxes: data deletion, no recovery and subscription termination.
Press Send Verification Code and enter the 6-digit code from your email. The code expires after 10 minutes.
If 2FA is on, enter the code from your authenticator app.
Type delete my account and press Delete Account.
Deletion cannot be undone. Active subscriptions are cancelled, authorized applications lose access, and your servers, custom bots, snapshots, API keys and other account data are deleted.
API Keys
Keys that let your scripts and integrations use the RestoreCord API, on the API tab. See API Keys for how to use them.
| Field | Rules |
|---|---|
| Name | 3 to 99 characters. Each key needs its own name. |
| Expiration | A slider from 1 to 365 days. Defaults to 30. |
| Permissions | Account (read) is always included. Servers, Members and Bots can be None, Read or Read + Write; Analytics can be None or Read. You can also add Create Backups, Restore Backups, Pull Members and Manage Firewall. |
| Allowed IP Addresses | Optional. Up to 20 IP addresses or CIDR ranges, such as 192.168.1.0/24. Press Enter to add one. Leave empty to allow any IP. |
- You can have up to 5 active keys. Create API Key is greyed out once you reach the limit.
- The key is shown only once, right after you create it. Use Copy to Clipboard and store it safely.
- Edit changes only the permissions and allowed IPs. To change the name or expiry, create a new key.
- Delete removes the key for good. Anything still using it stops working.
Authorized applications
Third-party services you have connected to your RestoreCord account, on the Applications tab. Each one shows when you authorized it and when it was last used.
Revoke access asks you to confirm, then cuts the application off straight away from your servers, bots, members and account information. You can connect it again later.
Active Sessions
Every device logged into your account, on the Sessions tab, with its device, browser and last activity. The device you are using is marked Current Device and listed first.
Press the × next to any other session to log it out. The current session cannot be ended here; log out normally instead. To end every session at once, change your password.
