Before You Begin
Make sure you have already created a custom bot on RestoreCord before setting up your server.
The bot you use should not be created on your primary Discord account. Using a separate account keeps your bot secure and isolated.
Server Setup Wizard
RestoreCord uses a 5-step wizard to help you set up your server quickly and easily.
Select Your Bot
Go to the RestoreCord Dashboard, navigate to Servers in the sidebar, and click Add new server.
Select the bot you want to use for this server. The bot will be invited to your Discord server in the next step.
If you've already invited the bot to your Discord server, you can click Bot already invited? Skip to server selection to proceed directly to server selection.
Invite Bot to Discord
A popup window will open asking you to authorize the bot on Discord. Select the Discord server where you want members to verify and click Authorize.
Make sure to close the popup window after authorizing the bot to continue with the setup.
Choose Your Discord Server
Select the Discord server where your members will verify. This should be your primary Discord server.
Only servers where the bot has been invited will appear in this list.
Set Server Name
Enter a unique name for your server configuration. This name will be used in your verification link.
Your verify link will look like: https://restorecord.com/verify/your-server-name
Choose a clean, memorable name for your verification link. This is what your members will see when they verify.
Configure Verified Role
Select the role that members will receive after verifying with RestoreCord.
Role Action Options:
- Give Role: Members receive the selected role after verification (default)
- Remove Role: The selected role is removed from members after verification
Important: The bot's role must be positioned above the verified role in your Discord server's role hierarchy. If you see "No Permission" next to a role, you need to adjust your role positions in Discord.
To fix role permissions:
- Go to Server Settings → Roles in Discord
- Drag your bot's role above the role you want to assign to verified members
- Click the refresh button in RestoreCord to update the role list
You have successfully added your Discord Server to RestoreCord! Members can now verify using your verification link.
Managing Your Server
After setup, you can manage your server from the Servers page in the dashboard:
- Manage: Edit server settings, verification options, and customization
- Pull Members: Migrate verified members to a different Discord server
- Create Snapshot: Create a backup snapshot of your server (Business plan)
